Computer science: Dr Luca Cardelli FRS is a Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research and a Royal Society Research Professor at the University of Oxford. His main interests are in programming languages and concurrency, and more recently in programmable biology and nanotechnology. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society, a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery, an Elected Member of the Academia Europaea, and an Elected Member of the Association Internationale pour les Technologies Objets.
Professor Samson Abramsky is a professor in the department of computing at the University of Oxford, his research focuses on the theory of computing, semantics of computation as well as Quantum information and computation.

His research interests include , programming language interfaces, query languages and data models.|
|Professor Jon Crowcroft is the Marconi Professor of Networked Systems in the Computer Laboratory, of the University of Cambridge. His research interests include Communications, Multimedia and Social Systems, especially Internet related.||
Professor Peter Druschel is the founding director of the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems. His research interests are in understanding, designing and building computer systems.
